Appalachian String Band Music Festival - A five day mountaintop gathering of musicians and friends with contests, concerts, workshops, square dances, camping and a hymn-sing. West Virginia masters are presented to an audience of more than 3000 musicians and string band music lovers from around the world.

FestivALL Charleston - FestivALL is an annual celebration of the arts in Charleston. Amid the heat and humidity, thousands of people enjoy the days of FestivALL, including art, antiques and library fairs downtown and the Wine and All That Jazz Festival across the river at the University of Charleston.

Multifest - A celebration of ethnic diversity and multiculturalism in our Mountain State. Created in 1990, Multifest has quickly become the largest family-oriented event in the area. Multifest is held annually the first weekend in August on the State Capitol with great food, live music, ethnic arts & crafts and cultural performances.

Spoleto Festival USA - Spoleto Festival USA was founded in 1977 by Pulitzer Prize-winning Italian composer Gian Carlo Menotti, Christopher Keene, and others who sought to create an American counterpart to their annual Festival of Two Worlds in Spoleto, Italy. Looking for a city that would provide the charm of Spoleto as well as its wealth of theaters, churches and other performances spaces, they selected Charleston as the ideal location.

Symphony Sunday - Held annually usually the first weekend in June, is a full day of music, food, and family fun, culminating in a free performance by the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra and a fireworks display following. Throughout the day, local performing community dance and music ensembles present a series of their own selected pieces with the final performance being by the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra.


The West Virginia Dance Festival - This annual Dance Festival features a variety of dances. A gathering of multiple styles of dance with performances free to the public. Two nights of performances will showcase the talent of West Virginia dancers who come to perform and take classes from a nationally-acclaimed festival faculty.

Vandalia Gathering - The Vandalia Gathering is held on the grounds of the State Capitol. Thousands of visitors each year enjoy traditional music, art, dance, stories, crafts and food that stems from the "uniqueness of West Virginia's mountain culture." There is no fee for admission.

West Virginia Hunting and Fishing Show - The West Virginia Hunting and Fishing Show now has over 240 booths! Held for the benefit of our exhibitors, the hunters and fishermen in our area and the hunting, fishing, wildlife, and conservation organizations who benefit from our charitable donation program.

West Virginia International Film Festival - Where many domestic and international films are shown that range from full-length feature films, shorts, documentaries, animation and student films. It is the official state film festival. Come and see some new shows that you have never seen before! We guarantee you will enjoy it!

West Virginia International Auto Show - A popular car show. It is the nation’s largest auto show producer was founded in 1984 and has since grown to produce auto shows in 24 markets across the country and in Puerto Rico.
