Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-Off - It's touted as the biggest barbecue in the country and you better believe it. Join over 300,000 people to taste-test the wares of 25 cooking teams, and vote to select the best. Competition is fierce but friendly.

Eldorado Great Italian Festival - Downtown Reno becomes Little Italy during this exuberant event. Festival highlights include free live Italian entertainment on three stages, a spaghetti sauce cook-off, traditional Italian fare, the famous grape stomping contest, bocce ball tournament, kids' gelato eating contest, and a gourmet Italian buffet inside the Eldorado.

Great Reno Balloon Race - Come join others from around the world in the spectacular sights and sounds of this unique event. The Great Reno Balloon Race is a spectacle to behold. Each morning, over 100 hot air balloons rise in mass ascension from Rancho San Rafael Park, filling the sky with blobs of color in the dawn light. Held in September.

Lake Tahoe Music Festival - Crisp mountain air, crystal blue waters, the laughter of friends and family and a concert under the stars – that’s the Lake Tahoe Music Festival. It’s a summer music destination and you truly have to be here to feel it. Combining Broadway and classical, classic rock, jazz, big band swing and even a little country.

Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival - The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival is established for the cultural benefit and enjoyment of all residents and visitors to our region. We strive to plan, produce and advocate the finest cultural events at Lake Tahoe while educating future generations on the importance of including theater, music and art in their everyday lives.

Barracuda Championship - Our own annual PGA golf tournament draws top celebrity players, and supports many Northern Nevada charities. It is played at Montreux Golf and Country Club in Reno. Recognized as favorite stop on the PGA Tour by its members, it is a first class tournament for our spectators, local and national corporate business partners, PGA TOUR players and volunteers.

Nevada State Fair - The Nevada Territory Wild West Fair focuses on traditional livestock shows, auctions, agricultural events, and exhibits, as well as carnival rides and live entertainment which are all vital and key components of any state fair. But, new and exciting educational and interactive elements added to the fair embrace a Wild West theme.


Reno Celtic Celebration - Pipe Bands, Celtic Musicians, Highland Games, Scottish and Irish Dancers, Celtic Vendors and more. Don't miss out on this cultural event!

Reno Jazz Festival - Since the festival’s inception in 1962, both it and its sponsor, the University of Nevada, Reno, have grown in size and stature. The Reno Jazz Festival now ranks as one of the largest and most vibrant of its kind in the nation, attracting more than 9,000 participants and guests in 2009.

Reno National Championship Air Races and Air Show - The only place in the world where you can experience five days of real air racing by six classes of aircraft, close-up access to racing aircraft, pilots, and crews in the pits, a world-class airshow, a large static aircraft display, including the Heritage Trophy competition, and great concessions and amenities.

Reno River Festival - What started as a little kayak action in downtown Reno has evolved into a major spring event. Centered at the Truckee River Whitewater Park, the Reno River Festival includes adventures both in and out of the water.

Reno Rodeo - The "Wildest, Richest Rodeo in the West," the Reno Rodeo is a 10-day event. Over 140,000 fans will be in attendance for the 4th richest PRCA tour rodeo. The Reno Rodeo has been nationally televised on CBS Sports, Fox Sports Net, Versus, ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN Classic.

Tour de Nez - Downtown Reno becomes professional cyclist criterion course during the Tour de Nez. The event attracts top teams and riders around the world, yet keeps a hometown flavor with fun events for local riders.

Western States Wild Horse & Burro Expo - The Expo celebrates and promotes wild horses and burros, those unique symbols of the Wild West and wide open spaces. Come and enjoy an event like none other where we will celebrate the West!
