American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer - This non-competitive, family-friendly, 5K walk begins and ends at the Waterfront Park in Downtown Louisville. We’ve made great strides against breast cancer, but our crusade won’t end until we find the cure. Join us in making strides toward a world with more birthdays!

Gaslight Festival - Centered in the small-town ambiance of Gaslight Square, the Festival has evolved into a seven-day extravaganza that has become a time-honored tradition of Jeffersontown. The Festival boasts a motorcycle rally, golf scramble, a 5K run/walk, a parade, balloon glow, bicycle tour, children's playground, live entertainment and over 140 arts, crafts and commercial booths.

Great Balloon Glow - One of the most anticipated events of balloon race weekend is the U.S. Bank Derby Festival Great Balloon Glow. Balloons inflate in their launch position on the field, but do not ascend. As the pilots fire their burners, watch as the balloons glow against the blackness of the night sky, synchronized to a special musical score.


Kentucky State Fair - Each year, fairgoers fill the indoor and outdoor exhibits, eat a smorgasbord of food and ride hair-raising, adrenaline-pumping coasters during the budget-friendly 11-day event. The Kentucky State Fair includes competitions in crafts such as quilt-making, homebrew beers, and home-made pastries, as well as fine arts and agricultural competitions.

St James Art Fair - Always held on the first full weekend of October, it hosts an impressive 750 artists from North America, and takes place in the heart of historic Old Louisville among the country's largest collection of Victorian homes.

Street Rod Nationals - A street rod is a nostalgia trip, and while it retains most of the appeal of an old car, it still permits self expression by allowing the creator to incorporate his own ideas in paint, body work and the mechanics that make it go. Come and join in this event that sports the best Street Rods of the country!

The Forcastle Festival - Annual Forecastle Festival will combine over 100 bands on five stages, along with San Francisco-based Sustainable Living Roadshow, Patagonia Footwear Film Pavilion, Outdoor Extreme Sports Park, SPROUTS “Rock and Relax” children’s zone, outdoor industry product demos, renewable energy showcase, green marketplace, conscious carnival, educational panels, speakers, workshops.

The Jane Austin Festival - Ladies, strap on your bonnets, and spruce up your Mr. Darcys for the Annual Jane Austen Festival. Booths of the Regency Emporium will feature silk shawls, fabric, bonnets, jewelry, antiquarian books, and personal silhouette cuttings will be featured inside the visitors' center.

The Kentucky Derby Festival - Held in April, What the Run for the Roses is to horse racing, the Derby Festival is to community celebrations. The Festival is one of the premiere events of its kind in the world. It brings fun, excitement, international recognition and a spirit that is unmatched anywhere.
