Sertoma Great Topeka Duck Race - Approximately 10,000 "adopted" rubber ducks will be dropped into Lake Shawnee in the cove South of the swim beach, for a race to the finish line. Lucky winners will receive great prizes! Games and kids' activities, petting zoo, and entertainment.

Topeka Railroad Festival - Fun activities for the whole family. Raising of the Flags Opening Ceremony, Variety of Model Railroad Trains, Classic Cars, Antique Cars, Free Photos at the Photo Booth, Rope Making, Railroad Memorabilia, Fumbles the Clown, Balloon Sculptures, Face Painting, Tie the Knot with the stem of a cherry, Pie Eating Contest, many food vendors and exhibitors,and much more!

Topeka Tinman Triathlon - This event features short course, long course and a sprint distance triathlon. The long course includes 1 Mile Swim - 20 Mile Bike - 6.5 Mile Run. Come, put yourself to the test to see if you can endure one of these great races!

Cider Days Fall Festival - Cider Days has moved and matured, growing into the premier fall festival in Northeast Kansas and the “must-see” annual destination for thousands. The two-day event, in September, attracts thousands of visitors each year to its arts and crafts exhibits, pioneer demonstrations, food and entertainment.

Huff 'n Puff Balloon Rally - Balloons inflate and remain in place as the sun sets. Pilots create a “glow” effect as darkness sets by continuously firing the balloon's burners. It is an inspirational experience! If you haven't seen hot air balloons inflate and lift off, this is a must see!


Mulvane Mountain/Plains Art Fair - Washburn University is home to this annual art fair, featuring over 90 artists from around the country. Join the festivities with food, children's activities and more. The museum is located on the Washburn University campus in Topeka. Admission is free.

Shawnee County Fair - The annual County Fair features wonderful horse shows, livestock competitions, exhibits, arts, crafts and more. You will have a great time as you visit the fair-don't miss it!

Spirit of Kansas Celebration - The Topeka Spirit of Kansas Festival is an old-fashioned 4th of July celebration held at Lake Shawnee from 10:00 am to dark with arts and craft vendors, car show, food, free children activities, entertainment, sporting events, and televised fireworks July 4 at 10:00 p.m.

Sunflower Music Festival - Sunflower Music Festival of Topeka, Kansas presents an annual series of orchestra concerts, chamber music evenings, educational projects and other artistic events of the highest level. These events occur throughout a two week period each June in White Concert Hall on the Washburn University campus.

Topeka Farm Show - The Topeka Farm Show continues each year to recognize the needs of the exhibitors and attendees and expands its format to include those needs. The show has grown to the use of six buildings, over three hundred exhibiting companies, five hundred fifty booths and added attractions that include a Purebred Cattle Expo, Daily Horsemanship Clinics, and leadership seminars. Free parking, free admission, free health care programs and events for the entire family.
