Brown v. Board National Historic Site & Museum - Gain an understanding and appreciation of the role this 1954 Supreme Court decision played in the Civil Rights Movement. This interactive, experiential museum is located in the Monroe Elementary School.

Combat Air Museum - One of a handful of major aviation museums in the United States located on an active air field. Visitors to our museum are regularly treated to flying activities of Air Force fighter aircraft and Army helicopter operations.

Great Overland Station and All Veterans Memorial - Great Overland Station, a museum and public center which represents our history in exciting ways that bring the past to life. Together with a new riverfront park and adjacent Historic North Topeka, this area will become a destination for children and tourists, a focus for arts and entertainment and a community gathering place for all ages.

Historic Mansion of Charles Curtis - Visit the historic landmark mansion of Charles Curtis, the only Native American to have served as vice president of the United States. The museum is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. When Charles Curtis was selected by President Herbert Hoover to serve as his Vice President, Curtis became the first Native American to hold the office.

Kansas Museum of History - Enjoy the history of Kansas in exciting and interactive exhibits at the Kansas Museum of History. You'll discover the western trails, the Civil War, a full-sized train 1950s diner and much more. Our Main Gallery is arranged chronologically from early people to recent past, although you can follow your own path in exploring these exhibits. Museum of the Kansas National Guard - Within the Museum walls, the weapons, uniforms and other artifacts carried or worn by Kansas Guardsmen from the Civil War to the Gulf War are proudly displayed. The Museum is dedicated to preserving the heritage of the Kansas National Guard and honoring the memories of the soldiers and airmen who, for over 145 years, have served Kansas and the United States.


Old Prairie Town at Ward-Meade Historic Site - Located on the Oregon Trail, Old Prairie Town is a 5.5 acre pioneer village featuring a botanical garden and a working soda fountain where cold treats are served. See an 1854 replica log cabin, an 1870s prairie mansion listed on the National Register of Historic Places, an 1880 Everest Church, an 1891 Victor schoolhouse, a dentist's and physician's office, and much more.

The Mulvane Art Museum - With almost 3000 objects in its permanent collection, a schedule of changing exhibitions and numerous public programs, Mulvane Art Museum has something for everyone. Founded in 1922, Mulvane Art Museum is one of the oldest museums west of the Mississippi. A wonderful array of art. Be sure and visit the Art Lab, a hands on art experience where you can create your own masterpiece.

The Topeka Zoo - Located in the heart of Gage Park, the Topeka Zoo has been a favorite destination for kids and adults alike since the 1930s. As you enter the Zoo, your passport to adventure will take you on a journey to innovative animal exhibits – you can go on safari in Lion’s Pride, enjoy the beautiful foliage of the tropics in the Tropical Rainforest, and interact with domestic animals.
