Fort Pierre Chouteau - In the mid-1800's, Fort Pierre Chouteau was the largest trading post on the upper Missouri River, a thriving community of traders, trappers, and Native Americans. Following that it was used briefly as a military fort. Today, not much remains of the fort's wooden bastions and buildings; but the site has been named a National Historic Landmark.

Pierre Players Community Theatre - If you are looking for a fun night out then come to the Pierre Players Community Theater and see what is playing. During the past 40 years, Pierre Players has produced 169 shows and sponsored 12 touring productions.

Black Hills Photo Shootout - The Black Hills Photo Shootout will be two and a half days of unique field workshops, scenic photo walks, inspiring indoor workshops and informal social events. The Casey Tibbs Match of Champions - The Casey Tibbs Match of Champions is a spectacular bronc riding event matching the world’s top cowboys against top bucking stock. Champions from South Dakota and all over are invited to compete. The twelve top scorers from round one compete for six positions in the final round.
