Museum of Mississippi History - In this state-of-the-art facility, the museum will tell Mississippi’s history from the earliest times to the present, exploring all aspects of the state’s rich cultural heritage. It is the second-oldest state department of archives and history in the country.


Mynelle Gardens - Visit a beautiful seven-acre collage of several distinct botanical gardens with winding pathways, cascading pools, and distinctive bridges that lead across the pond to an island oasis. It typifies the southern garden with features worth emulating in our own backyards.

Mississippi Museum of Natural Science - Inside the park, the Museum's buildings and grounds feature a 73,000-square foot complex overlooking a 300-acre natural landscape, 2.5 miles of nature trails, and an open-air amphitheater. Located inside the Museum are a variety of exciting exhibits, including: a series of life-size displays of the state's diverse habitats, a aquarium network housing over 200 living species, and a greenhouse.

The Oaks House Museum - This Greek Revival-style cottage was built about 1853 on four acres of land located near the center of Mississippi’s capital city. The house is one of few structures that survived the burning of Jackson in the Civil War. The Oaks is a Mississippi Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
