January 30 - February 8 - Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo, Rapid City - The Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo features a number of exciting events including: a horse sale, a horse show, and a number of horsemanship events. March 13-14 - St. Patrick`s Day Weekend Celebration, Deadwood - The Saint Patrick's Day Celebration in Deadwood is an excellent experience. On the 15th there will be a leprechaun Olympics competition, followed by an awards ceremony in the evening. May 12 - Big Sioux Water Festival, Brookings - Selected as a National Model Festival, the Big Sioux Water Festival provides 4th graders with a fun way to learn about water and water management. June 6-7 - Siouxland Renaissance Festival, Sioux Falls - The Siouxland Renaissance Festival has a number of exciting things to do. The festival features craftsman plying their trade, knights, jugglers, dancers and other entertainers. There even are jousting matches. June 18-21 - Tabor Czech Days, Tabor - This annual ethnic festival celebrates Czech heritage. Enjoy the colorful costumes, delicious Czech food, parade, Beseda dancers, craft fair, free entertainment and more. June 26-28 - Black Hills Bluegrass Festival, Sturgis - The Black Hills Bluegrass Festival is a really exciting event. With the scenic black hills surrounding the performers and audience one can get lost more easily in the bluegrass music as it is performed. July 11-12 - Brookings Summer Arts Festival, Brookings - With over 200 artists from all over the country, the Brookings Summer Arts Festival attracts nearly 75,000 visitors over two days. Browse works of arts in various mediums ranging from wood to oil and pastels. August 14-23 - Central State Fair and Rodeo, Rapid City - At the Central State Fair and Rodeo there will be a wide variety of things to do and to see. There will be the bull riding and calf-roping of the rodeo to go along with a variety of free children's events, a carnival, and several concerts.
